"The problem with this "fsync debunking" is that it's a mischievous smoke curtain who manages to completely conceal the very simple fact that the reported "fsync () 30 seconds bug" was not about the idea of fsync per se, but about a bug in its ext3 implementation: fsync (filedescriptor) should synchronize changes to the specified file, not to the whole filesystem!"
